Leeds is the future

Wow, school hasn't started and i'm having a hell of a wacky time here. Leeds is really the famous place where everybody gives 2 thumbs up for its night life - it offers the best night outs in the UK and i have to agree with that. So i try to get accustomed to their culture and once again, I just went to another party!!!The theme is "Fruity" this time. haha...

The music is great, the company is great... somehow i've never been so sober after drinking before (or maybe they put less alcohol into the drinks), its convenient from where i stay, just a 10 minute walk away. Then i start to wonder why i dread going to parties in Singapore.

Firstly, its cheap to club here. today i only spent 8 pounds the whole night, including drinks. I spent only 5.50 pounds when i went to "Flirt" the previous time.

Secondly, i don't have to take a cab home

Thirdly, i don't have to report to anyone, having the fear of waking anybody up when i get home, or receiving calls and all i hear is "AIYOOOOO now what time already?!?!! u better get home now....."

Forthly, well i can sleep in till the next day.

Fifthly, everybody is so enthusiastic about dancing and nobody ever laughs or poke fun at how i dance. Everybody just wants everybody else to have fun together.

Maybe the international students aren't so crazy, but the English people will pour beer everywhere, sing and cheer loudly, and simply letting their hair down. So naturally, i become like them too. i find myself behaving like them when i'm on the streets, talking to people like we're a kind, saying hi to strangers like we were friends, and kissing everyone else on both cheeks before we part (except with fellow singaporeans).

okie, i've joined the Malaysian and Singapore Society! haha, and we will go out together tmr and meeting even more and more new friends! I love meeting friends! And on the condition that they come with the same purpose too. I really hate being with close-minded people who just keep sticking to their clique of friends, not introducing each other, or being the poor thing who just keep to myself because its so difficult to integrate in. That's why i love Turkey too (somehow not with a-i-e-s-e-c), because everybody wants to make their guest feel at home. and i want to adopt such lovely hospitality, because its so kind to human nature.

Gingerbread man!! Yay! very very nice and makes me happy seeing them... i didn't want to eat the head, so Clement ate him all. The cost is okie what right? 45p = S$1.35

Yea this is their version of their CCA matric fair... cool lah, they also have "Kick Out Blair" campaigns and someone asked us to sign up for a demostration against him. interesting to be involved, but must pay, so forget it.

And they have mountaineering Club!! Yay! how cool is that! They have Gliding club too (which i'm going to join) and Hiking Club ( which Clement and I will join). I think i will put travelling aside after Paris. I think doing activities that can't be done in Singapore is more valuable than sightseeing.

Yea close up view of fellow Singapore exchange student... we don't just stick together and do one thing. What i love about us is that we venture out, experience new stuff and meet new people together. We don't just keep to ourselves and do things by ourselves. He's a great guy!

And yes, we go to pubs often. to Chill man.


Anyway, we 4 Singapore exchange students came together to cook chicken rice. It was a treat for ourselves, but it was also to test out on how we should cook good chicken.

Then Clement and I decided to cook for 18 people!!! We offered to cook, and we invited everybody! His new neighbour, my neighbours, and all my neighbour's friends! so at the same time, we made new friends!!! And the food is cheap cheap cheap! 15 huge chicken thighs for 5 pounds... rock on!

Yea, great people, great place! This is in "Mine" in the Student Union (discotheque on campus leh...) and yea, having great fun together! and these were the people who came to our chicken rice invite and we got most of them to come to the party together!! so we drew closer bonds to everybody.

okie this is a better international picture. The girl in bright blue is a Brazilian - Italian and the girl on extreme right is from Ireland. Cool cool cool. Its just so nice to see people again whom i just met the previous day.

Alright, i know i know... everyone is busy mugging, but i'm still on holiday until 2nd Oct. i can't wait for school to start, really!

p/s: I know in my previous entry, i said i didn't like to socialise anymore... I just felt out-of-place coz everybody went thru the international camp, except me. Many people were friendly to me, but i just found myself stuck in a situation where i had to stand in a group of people where they were having their own conversation and I was just standing at the corner, trying to find someone to talk to just to fit into the group. Ya, i don't like that. I admit, i like positive attention and i really appreciate those who helped me integrate into the group. All i can say that it takes time to know each other, for others and for myself.
