My life in Turkey is ending soon...

It's all almost over in Turkey. Now i have to pack up and move on. And i'm glad i'm here, not being involved in the struggles of yc back in singapore. Here are some pictures from my workcamp in Ardahan, Gole.

Yes, my favourite Turkish girl again, behind us is Armenia, no joke. We were visiting this old city called Ani, which is just before the border (the river at the background) that seperates Turkey and Armenia.

Here are pictures from my 1 day trip in Georgia (the country below Russia, not USA)

This is a typical orthodox church in Georgia - Sameba Church.


The church is extremely spacious with an immensed religious atmosphere.

Everyone will come here, to kiss the picture of Jesus and pray. All the pictures of Jesus, Mary, St John etc are all in drawings, a little like cartoons.

Ah yes, i took this picture secretly. Here is a typical scene in the church, where the priest stands there, plays a holy instrumental music that sounds more holy than buddhist chants. perhaps its because in was in Georgian, which makes it sounds quite creepy to me. People stand around the priest to listen to him read from the Bible. There were many others in robes too, standing around to offer services to the people.

Huge New Testament bible, cover is gold plated with carvings on it. The book was written in the 3rd century AD, and in Georgian.

Lost in Central Asia

Hi Guys, here are some quick updates about myself.

This entry is rather illogical becasue it's supposed to be "hobbitisineurope" but right now i'm not. haha. and dear JAcq, I have received your gmail and you make me laugh in the internet cafe... how embarrassing. It also affirms one more thing... that even if i'm not straight i wouldn't want to hump on u either... hahaha.. k lah joking. I will try to get your yellow shoes k...

Oh yeah, i'm right now in Georgi, which is in Central Asia, just below Russia. i needed to go there coz my legal time of 90 days is up in Turkey, so i needed to leave the country for 1 night, and go back to extend my stay for 1 more month. Oh and the most horrible thing was that i had to pay an extra 40 USD for my Visa to enter Georgia... AHHHH money eating world is what i hate....

Georgia is a pretty place, has lots of churches, as opposed to Turkey with loads of Mosques... the churches are Russian Churches or Orthodox ones, and there are much more "Holy" than Singapore Churches... the atmosphere was so much more solemn... no singing of christian pop songs... just the priests and the people pray really hard together and making occassional jokes.

And oh my god, the Georgian language is really difficult, they have their own lanugage and it makes the places seem rather intimidating to us... it looks a little like Thai, accompanied with Russian. and the whole traces of communist feeling doesn't make me feel so welcomed to the countyr. But as we walked down the streets... the bad feeling fades off and i do quite like this country. oh well, Turkey's much more exciting, really.

okie, that's all for updates, anyone wants to sms me, please internet sms me at www.starhub.com!! i am using back my singapore number for now, because for some reason, the turkish government has cut off my connection with the TurkCell network, because the phone i'm using is foreign. So ya, sms to my Singapore number!! thanks... i miss everyone out there... like really badly... Thanks to all who left a msg ... i love all of you!

UPDATES

Hi everybody. Here is an important update : I will not be updating for the next 2 weeks!!! Muahaha. good update eh?

Alright, i owe everybody an explanation. I have severed all ties with aiesec Bursa and i have left aiesec, just like how i left yc. I just leave quietly and wait for people to realise i'm no longer around. To them, it doesn't affect them. To me, it doesn't either. so, whatever.

So i have to move on with my life and i have found a new excitement!!!!

I have signed up to go for a workcamp in NorthEast Turkey. I will be taking a bus over and it will take 25 hours to get there. *gasp*. Volunteers going on this workcamp with me are from Turkey, Azerbaycan, Switzerland, Spain, France, Italy and Japan. It's going to be awesome and so full of uncertainties!!! But now, there are fightings everywhere in the world, i hope none of them are so insensitive to say negative remarks about it. Politically correct is the way to go, especially if you have nothing to do with it.

Alright, for the past few days, i have been dossing around and drinking tea and erm, well, nargile. I will stop. i will!!! its getting boring already =p.

and nothing much actually. Turkey has had enough of hobbit. Paradise island is calling...

Jacqueline has gone home

Oh yes, on this fateful day when Jacq flew home, I woke up the next morning and find Kayra shouting everywhere and provoking me. I sat down for breakfast with the family and the UK whitie occupied my mind. After breakfast, Annanne took off the bedsheets and transformed the bed into a sofa i've vaguely seen before. Annanne then took her Green Tea perfume and started spraying herself, and showing me by her usual antics that smelling it will remind her of Jacq. I smiled at her not because i was amused but because i agreed with her. I opened the card Jacq wrote for me and saw the pretty picture that she printed, of the 4 of us. Then the Annanne's brother's child came and blatently looked into the card that pissed me off so much, i got lost in my emotions that became uncontrollable. I think of him, i think of her and i think of aiesec, i got up to my feet, marched to the toilet in Kayrah's room and started crying like how she does it every morning. Yea, Jacq, it didn't take me "gelecek hafta" to cry afterall. =p

okie, this week hasn't been a very good week. There's this UK guy who hangs out with us and who would say things that would upset both me and Jacq. Then there's the closing of TEGV and visiting Mutlular that wasn't all that pleasant, and this particular somebody who undermined my 'idealistic' values, saying how i love to be the centre of attention of kids and that they won't even remember me after 3 weeks, when all i wanted to do was to say goodbye to the kids and pass some sweets to them. What was more annoying was that he didn't realise how it hurt me so bad. hmm, but really, what i learnt was that i could tell him what was wrong, but a leopard never changes his spots.

so i made a complaint to aiesec too about my matter and i feel quite tired being associated with aiesec bursa. i feel like flying off to paradise island right now, but for now, i need to do lots of shopping.
