British Diving Centres (BDC)

自己来. That's what BDCs are about. Oh sigh, i have to realise british divers are an independent lot, and i have shown too little initiative. My mentality has always been since-i-paid-you-get-it-settled-for-me. But shouldn't this be the way to go?

British people expects u to settle your own problem but my problem should have been settled since i paid! that's THEIR problem already! but apparantly no. My instructor just called 2 days before the diving trip that i have to 自己来. Like what what what... what about the other instructors...?

Anyway, i'll leave this blog on its own for the next 9 days. I'll see u guys soon =)

Hehhh!! went Manchester with Martina, Rina, Kaori kaori, Ryoko (bai chi), Fion, Lotta, Ping, Esther and Karen... haha! so many people hor?

I missed the bus, so i decided to try my luck at getting a free ride on the train... but ended up paying a little more coz the train conductor didn't let me off... oh well

I walked arounf with Kaori Kaori and Ryoko, and both of them are just so kawaii... haha... they are japanese mah, i don't know what else i can say about them... They go "OOOHHHH" and "EEEHHHHH???" when they see something new or delicious... what you see in Japan Hour is what you get when you meet Japanese, there's no doubt about Japanese people in the TV programme... They are really very nice and so easy-going... and they really try their best to speak English...

From left: Me, Ryoko and KaoriKaori

Anyway the next day, I played Futsul with the Malaysian Society with teams from Nottingham, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds and Ireland... phew. it's not easy... coz all of them are so good in football... esp from Ireland!!!

I was the goalkeeper... hahah! i think i'm not bad, coz all the games we play... is always 0 on the opponents side... but at the finals, i let in 1 goal by the Ireland team... so, in the end we got 2nd... They shot straight through the goal at my left when she kicked with her right leg... i couldn't get it in time though i thought i could have done so... that 1 split moment shattered my hopes totally... all i can say is that i'm not as good as i really want myself to be.... and the team from Ireland are indeed skillfull.. and i think they do deserve the gold medal...

Can la, we got a silver medal in the end. =)

My team! Haha.. i look like the goalkeeper hor? All of them, except me, were playing football for the first time in their lives!!! WHOA!! and they had to play through all 6 games... which is tough for them! but they manage to pull through and we got 2nd!!! Hooray girls! I like your optimism and such good sportsmanship and spirit... perhaps its because its among the malay (or malaysian) community... then shake hands hug and sometimes light kisses after each game... and for some people in my team, (e.g Jeannie) found hidden talents with ball sense and sub consciously know how to twirl the ball around them... whoa!

These days have been really good, coz suddenly got alot of things to do, go and buy! and lots of people who have been giving me quite some attention, coz somehow, they could sense that i haven't been feeling so good... Like my flatmates... Rina and Martina, who i see most of the time and hang out with them all these while, they have given me a sense of belonging within our social circle... Both of them are very sensible too... somehow i look up to them for their conscientiousness to take care of each other and their own friends around them...

Better mood, Bad news

I'm back into a better mood now!!

Thanks thanks to my friends... janjan who wanted to call me despite being so late in Singapore... I'm feeling much better now... except that i'm facing some kind of really rubbish news now...

After waiting so long for the examination timetable to come out, so that i know when exactly i can go back home, i couldn't wait any longer and i decided to change my plane ticket from 20th Nov (COMING SOON) to 20th Jan 2007. Well... then STA said that there's no seats in the WHOLE OF JANUARY from London to Singapore. WTF. WTF. WTF. WTF.

but can't be...??? because Zuji is still selling tickets and it's Gulf Air indeed... how can there be no seats for the whole of january? The STA girl said i have to cancel my ticket and get the portion's refund and pay the "remaining outstanding charges" for a NEW one way ticket back to Singapore, which brings me to India for a stop-over. Which is like 350pounds and maybe 200 pounds off the refunded one... and then i have to pay extra 150pounds? And the earliest i can get back is 24th Jan 2007... What the hell am i suppose to do from 19 - 24th January? I DON"T WANT TO SPEND MONEY and I REALLY WANT TO GO HOME!!! and with 150 pounds... i can get a decent BCD............ =/

Ridiculous. Ridiculous. Sucks.

But okie, today i chatted with someone online... and made me feel much better. To You: It wasn't anything much, but talking and knowing that everything's getting better makes me feel happy for you. People leave each other, at least i will never leave you as a friend anytime when you need someone. (i hope you find my website soon enough to read this soon enough before it goes off) I'll be back to help you borrow books from the library.

Anyway, here's a friend feature:

Look: First girl from extreme right - Fion!

She was there for me when I really really really needed to talk to someone... She let me stay over at her place and let me sleep on her softie bed! Then she gave me chocolate muffin in the morning and made tea for me... We chatted until like 4am before we went to bed... Really super super touched... thanks thanks thanks thanks thanks THANKS!

I finally finished my CV and Cover letter... now, i have to search for company address, call them up and every other thing not stated in this entry - that includes washing my clothes.

i'm in such a bad mood... i'm trying to arrange my own internship somewhere in Australia but its really difficult... i spent the whole day at it and i'm about to give up...

I put Utada Hikaru's song on repeat mode and it just kills me all over again

I'm in such a bad mood! =( I've come to the point where i've been out doing nothing serious for just too long... so long that it rots inside... i have to go to Red Sea like NOW before the air and geotechnics kill me totally. I need to hide myself from the world for a while right now...

The song is still playing... what a mean old bad boy this song is...

I'm just suffering from being-in-uk-for-too-long syndrome. I'll get over it i'll get over it i'll get over it i'll get over it...

Edit:
I've switched my music to Yanzi's di liu gan and Corrinne's songs... they helped a little but i'm going to run to my Taiwanese friend's place to give her a hug right now.

hobbits and books still don't go together

Its the weekend once again, which means going out again to play. I'll just let the pictures tell u everything a typical kaypoh-hobbit's-life-kia would want to know.

Yay! Me and Liqing!!! we meet in UK... haha she never change... still the bubbly liqing who is always full of nonsense and gives lunatic hugs... but sorry to all the singapore guys who once wooed her... she's no longer single. It's so nice to see her again!!!

that's her in action. I'll leave out other unglam photos of her. haha!

ya... notts uni is super huge and spacious and full of luxurious green. That's Xintian i meet her again. Xintian, is your right hand in my pocket? warm right? Remember, there's no such thing as bad weather, only bad gears. We control ourselves!

Then Jacq brought me around Robin Hood's place. There's a statue of him, the famous archer in Nottingham. Cool stuff going on... Then just walked around the city centre. THANK YOU JACQ!
Thanks for sacrificing your time to bring me around... haven't seen u for 3 years... you looked all so grown up now..

KESWICK (LAKE DISTRICT) HIKE!
You see the hill at the background? That's where we are going! 864m high!

Some of my mates who made the trip real good and entertained. Thanks for letting me know you guys. =) I love it when I find it easy to open myself up to people. It takes 2 hands to clap, so thanks guys (u won't be reading it, but thanks anyway lah).

Arh... look at the long road up to our destination....

As we got up higher, we enter the clouds... and the temperature keeps dropping and dropping... and i wasn't adequately prepared... i only brought my fleece and my windbreaker... goodness i felt so cold and bad... and does that reflect how i handle my life too? I think it does. Very much.

Can you spot 2 people standing on top of the mountain(about 1cm from extreme left of the picture)? We are really small... Like all the chaos in the world, all the heartbreaks and all the little trivial affairs didn't matter at the end of the day... because we are just small people just trying to handle our small little lives... If I could bring you somewhere to heal your soul... i would bring you here...

This is my hand. ya. MY hand. I didn't bring gloves (slap myself) my hand got pretty bad bites from the chill... My bones were frozen... I had to perpetually put them in my pocket to thaw it.

Walking along the edge of the hill...

Meeting lovelies along the way...

And the ever rewarding scenery after a tiring walk. I love Lake District...

And of course, the day ended with mmmmint British humour /beer/ beer/ whisky/ beer/ FUBR / Bee's knees.

On top of the hill, as usual, i did alot of reflections about what I have done... the sins and the glories...

Playing Around...

How You Life Your Life

You seem to be straight forward, but you keep a lot inside.
You say whatever is on your mind. Other people's reactions don't phase you.
You prefer a variety of friends and tend to change friends quickly.
You tend to always dream of things within reach - and you usually get them.

skipping lectures is a habit

Hey people! i'm right in front of the computer now, because i think i should be doing something useful since i'm not in lecture as i'm supposed to be. oh well, its Law and Law means i've done it before. yea!

so i'm going to travel back to about 5 days ago, when i started diving in my dry suit for the first time in the swimming pool. Well, yup we had to do knowledge reviews, my instructor drove me to his house to watch the VCD and 95% of our conversation was about diving diving and diving. I don't know, but why isn't there somebody i can talk to about construction construction and construction? I have to find a decent society to join(not BEMS for goodness sake.) so that I can talk to people.

anyway, Kaixin and Xintian came over from Liverpool. They went Liverpool Shopping for jerseys, jackets and match tickets. Both of them kept going "whoa i want to come to leeds! whoa so cheap! whoa leeds so good!" haha.. thanks guys, U made me feel that i'm very fortunate.

Both of them in my room. muahaha. cool stuff going on for this 2 -- lots of self-declared holidays.. more than me i think... why didn't u guys stay longer... =(

Anyway just yesterday Sunday i went to Capernwray to dive... its a quarry and each of us have to pay 10 pounds to get in each time, and i had pay EXTRA 7.50 pounds to register. CRAPiFiED! ON TOP of what i had to pay for my course. oh sigh. I dived in a dry suit, and i felt really bulky everywhere, i couldn't put my mask and fins on my own. My instructor had to put it on for me under the water. and I was so bouyant i had 18 kg of weights on me... oh well, guess i'm not fat enough.

Check this one out...

After the dive, i had mild hypothermia, coz i didn't bring enough clothes to wear on after the dives. Its bad to get too cold... i got so tired from shivering i plonked on my bed and slept for 12 hours, i woke up with bruised hips body aches and a heavy head. oh well, that's what you get when you don't have sufficient hours of sleep the night before... i slept for 5 hours before the dive (any instructor would kill me for that) ...

That's because the night before... we had JAPANESE PANCAKE PARTY!!! Lots of people came, and we talked about Japanese Japanese and Japanese. Korean Chinese and Martial Arts too...
i was a 5th Grade Ninjado student so i had a fair contribution too... muahaha. Lovely! Suddenly i love talking. and it wasnt talking cock at all... it was substantial exchange of knowledge which i appreciate more than just drinking and dancing.

I learnt how to make Kakuni which is stewed pork. remind me to cook for u when u see me back in Singapore!

Just some pictures from the bonfire night... to celebrate the execution of this man called Guy Fawkes who tried to blow up the parliment in 1605. Fireworks everywhere in the whole country, cities and in each and every towns.
